Ryan Reynolds and Nick Cannon star in Aviation ad

Actor Ryan Reynolds and US television host Nick Cannon have released an Aviation Gin advert to mark Father’s Day (19 June).

Aviation Gin
Cannon features in the ad to show viewers how to make a classic cocktail with Aviation Gin

The duo craft a classic cocktail called The Vasectomy, with Cannon poking fun at the fact he is expecting his eighth child this year.

The recipe has been outlined below.

Ingredients

Tall glass of ice

30ml Cranberry juice

85ml Tonic

Dash of Lemon juice

45ml Aviation American Gin

The video presents Cannon providing comical instructions on how to create The Vasectomy.

“Fill one tall glass with ice,” Cannon instructs, “the way children fill our lives with so much joy.”

He continues: “Next, pour in one ounce of cranberry juice – sweet, just like their little smiles.

“Then pour three ounces of tonic. So bubbly, just like I feel everyday I wake up after a long, full night’s sleep.

“A dash of lemon juice – fresh if you have a few minutes to squeeze one, or store-bought if the little ones have you running around a bit today,” he sarcastically laughs.

“Finally, add one and a half ounces of Aviation American Gin.”

After garnishing the drink, Cannon announces: “And that looks like a delicious Vasectomy.”

Reynolds steps in to take the drink, because he has “three kids”. Cannon retorts he has eight, and Reynolds splutters the cocktail onto the camera.

The two jokingly console each other in an embrace.

Deadpool star Reynolds invested in Aviation Gin in 2018, and Diageo acquired the brand in 2020.

Last month, Reynolds teamed up with his mum to celebrate Mother’s Day, releasing an ad for Mother’s Ruin Punch in a similar fashion.

Reynolds’ wife, actor Blake Lively, is founder of Betty Buzz sparkling mixers. Lively unveiled a debut video campaign for her brand recently, which emphasised the range’s high level of carbonation.
