Kate Latts and Allan Latts will assume the roles of co-presidents from 1 September 2022.

Current president Max Shapira will move into the new position of executive chairman.

Shapira commented: “Over the past 20 years, I have been proud to watch Kate and Allan grow and develop into roles of leadership and increased responsibility.

“They have added immeasurably to the company’s successes and built a foundation for future generations.

“They bring the passion for this business that has been a hallmark of our company for 85-plus years. I am highly confident the best is yet to come.”

Shapira joined the family business in 1970 after working on Wall Street. In his new post of executive chairman, he will provide partnership and counsel on the strategic direction of the business.

He will also utilise his extensive industry experience and contacts to support Heaven Hill’s long-term growth ambitions.

Kate is Shapira’s daughter, and Allan is her husband. Kate and Allan joined Heaven Hill Brands in 2001.

They both achieved undergraduate and MBA degrees from Duke University before joining Procter & Gamble.

Today, Kate leads Heaven Hill Brands’ marketing and brand management functions as chief marketing officer. Meanwhile, Allan is chief operating officer.

Kate added: “Allan and I are proud to assume the leadership of Heaven Hill with full knowledge of our generational responsibility. My dad, grandfather and his brothers built a company with an enduring legacy of family and independence that is increasingly unique in distilled spirits.

“With the support of our incredible team, we are as committed as ever to preserving those qualities and ensuring our success for generations to come.”

Heaven Hill Brands will begin to look for a replacement chief marketing officer. However, the chief operating officer role will not be backfilled.

The company’s portfolio includes brands such as Deep Eddy Vodka, Lunazul Tequila, and Evan Williams.

Earlier this year, Heaven Hill Brands revealed plans to build a US$135 million Bourbon distillery.
