Cocktails in the City returns for 10th year

Urban drinks festival Cocktails in the City will return to Bedford Square for its London summer series from July, with three themed events.

Tickets to Cocktails in the City include a welcome drink and access to 20 pop-up bars

Now in its 10th year, the weekend-long alfresco festivals will bring together more than 20 of the capital’s top bars in pop-up form. Guests will be able to enjoy world-class cocktails, live music, experiential games, masterclasses, makeovers and a silent disco.

Andrew Scutts, founder of Cocktails in the City, said: “Last year’s summer series was such a success and we are looking forward to building on this in 2022. We’ve developed all the most popular features of last year and will be showcasing some exciting new talent in the London bar scene.”

Cocktails in the City has added a Thursday evening session to each month, creating a space for groups wanting to spend time reconnecting with colleagues or celebrating with friends.

Themes across the summer will include Innovation and Discovery, International Edition and Festival of Drinks.

Running from 7-9 July, the Innovation & Discovery weekend will launch the summer series by bringing together some of the city’s most creative cocktail minds in one place. Guests can expect playful category crossovers and pairings, new bars and faces alongside the chance to rediscover some of London’s most renowned and much-loved bars, such as Bourne & Hollingsworth, Coupette, Disrepute and Homeboy Bars.

On 11-13 August, the International Edition will showcase London’s global outlook and exciting cocktail talent, taking guests on a journey around the globe ‘in a matter of sips’. Attendees will be able to indulge in a ‘healthy dose’ of escapism at ‘good-time bars’ such as Café Pacifico, Laki Kane and Trader Vic’s, or hotel venues such as Fitz’s and Silverleaf.

The summer series will conclude over the weekend of 8-10 September with the Festival of Drinks, an immersive and interactive cocktail celebration complete with live music, street food vendors and festival décor.

Bars such as Funkidory, Callooh Callay and London Cocktail Club will be in attendance, alongside live music from One Night Records. Attendees will have the chance to try their hand at ice carving with Ice Carving Cool, and challenge friends to a game of shuffleboard thanks to London Shuffle Club.

Tickets are priced at £20 (US$25.23) and include a welcome drink.
