Siblings Patrick Walsh, Thomas Walsh and Jen McGinnell founded Flying Tumbler in August 2020 with debut expression, The Bird.

It was followed by the release of The Tippler and The Roller Irish whiskeys. The brand takes its name from a breed of pigeons.

The Bird will be rolled out across the north east, initially in Massachusetts, followed by New York later this year.

The brand is currently available in Boston at Bostonia, Dooley’s, Quin House and Next Door.

“MS Walker is excited to welcome Flying Tumbler into our world-class portfolio of fine wine and spirits,” said Bill Livingstone, senior vice-president and director of on- and off-premise sales for MS Walker.

“As the Irish whiskey category continues to soar, we look forward to establishing this brand’s presence in Massachusetts and beyond.”

The Bird is a four-part blend of grain and malt whiskies and aged in a mix of ex-Bourbon and oloroso Sherry casks. It is recommended used as the base for an Irish coffee. It carries a pricetag of US$43.

Patrick Walsh, head of operations, said: “We are excited to begin Flying Tumbler’s journey in North America with MHW as our importer and MS Walker as our distributor.

“Both companies are industry specialists with the capacity and expertise to bring Flying Tumbler’s modern, youthful and authentic products to a whole new generation of consumers with a particular focus on redefining the Irish coffee and the Irish coffee cold brew.”
