Takamaka Rum, produced by the Trois Frères Distillery, will be available in France through Paris’ La Maison du Whisky and in Spain via Barcelona-based Beverage Hunters.

Slovenia-based Venka Vojo will distribute the rum brand in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia.

The family-owned producer said it is embarking on its global expansion plans ahead of the release of its new premium collection, The St André Series.

Takamaka is now available in 28 markets, through distributors such as Highball in the UK, Haromex in Germany, and African + Eastern in the United Arab Emirates.

In 2021, the rum maker started a major expansion of its distillery at La Plaine St Andre and unveiled a brand refresh.

It is now the site of the first molasses distillery in the Seychelles, thanks to the installation of a new column still, bringing production to more than 200,000 litres per year.

The Takamaka range comprises Rum Blanc, Dark Spiced, Zannannan (Pineapple), Koko (Coconut) and Overproof expressions.

Last year, The Spirits Business spoke to the founders of Takamaka, brothers Bernard and Richard D’Offay, on their plans for global growth.
