Last month, Vinexposium confirmed Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris would take place as planned from 14 to 16 February 2022.

The fair will be held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. The Paris event is expected to have more than 2,800 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors.

The show has a dedicated area for spirits in Hall 3, called Be Spirits.

Be Spirits will host several masterclasses and conferences exploring the trends and issues facing the industry.

Speyside distillery Glen Moray will cover the influence of wine casks on single malts, while Saint James rum will provide a tasting of five vintage expressions.

The International Spirits Centre will host ‘An Introduction to Rum: what to know and how to taste’ and Quebec distillers will discuss terroir in spirits.

Furthermore, trade body the Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac (BNIA) will hold a session covering Armagnac in cocktails and a tasting of new and vintage bottlings.

IWSR Drinks Market Analysis will discuss the development of the spirits market, while Normandy producer La Spiriterie Française will explore spirits tourism and innovation.

Trade body the Fédération des Exportateurs de Vins & Spiritueux de France (FEVS) will also reveal the performance of local wine and spirits exports during its annual press conference.

Vinexposium said this year’s fair will have more than 120 spirits exhibitors in attendance, the majority of which will be located in the Be Spirits zone.

Spirits exhibitors now have 61% extra floor space compared with the area’s debut in 2020, with two thirds new to the show.

Alongside a large French presence, a third of spirits exhibitors are from across the world, including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Spain, the US, Hong Kong, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Romania, the UK, Austria, China, Israel, Switzerland, Russia and Venezuela.

Spirits exhibitors will cover more than 20 categories, including Armagnac, cachaça, Calvados, Cognac, brandy, gin, grappa, hard seltzers, mezcal, rum, saké, shochu, ready-to-drink, Tequila, tonic, umechu, vermouth, vodka, whisky, arak, and baijiu.

The Be Spirits area will also see the return of the Infinite Bar, which is more than 40 metres in length.

Around 20 Parisian venues will showcase their cocktails at the Infinite Bar, including Paris Society, Vesper, Madame Rêve, Bambou, Bar Chaumont, Danico, Harry’s New York Bar, Andy Wahloo, Istr, Roxo, Bar 1802, Solera, Les Ambassadeurs, Amaro, Bonhomie, Gravity Bar, Le Syndicat, Bluebird and House Garden.
