Desert Door Texas Sotol names marketing exec
By Melita KielyRachel Vallejo Carneglia has joined Desert Door Texas Sotol as director of marketing.

Vallejo Carneglia will work to expand the sotol producer’s reach across Texas through new consumer-focused campaigns, which will begin from the mid-2022.
The new director of marketing will also lead the firm’s product launches, digital marketing and brand development. She will also promote Desert Door’s sustainability and land conservation efforts through its non-profit Wild Spirit Wild Places.

Desert Door launched in Austin, Texas, in November 2017. It produces a range of sotol, made from the evergreen sotol plant, native to west Texas.
Vallejo Carneglia had previously worked as the marketing director for the Austin Parks Foundation since 2015.
She is currently the vice-president of communications on the board of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Austin, working to engage Texans in the legislative process at the state capitol.
Carneglia brings more than 10 years of marketing experience to Desert Door.
