MGP-owned whiskey maker Luxco has secured listings for two of its Bourbons through UK-based online grocery business Ocado.

Luxco’s Yellowstone Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Ezra Brooks Kentucky Straight Bourbon will be available to buy online through Ocado.

Greg Mefford, international sales director at Luxco, said: “Working closely with our UK distribution partner, Lightbox Brands, we identified Ocado as an online retailer that’s seen exceptional growth, attracting UK consumers who are looking for a choice of international products that can be purchased conveniently online.

Yellowstone Select is produced by Limestone Branch Distillery, which is based in Lebanon, Kentucky. Bottled at 46.5% ABV, the liquid is a blend of four- and seven-year-old Bourbons. The bottling delivers flavours of caramel and cherries on the palate, as well as smoky notes and spicy rye on the finish. Yellowstone Straight can be purchased for RRP £52 (US$ 69.86).

Meanwhile, the Ezra Brooks Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made by Lux Row Distillers, and clocks in at 40% ABV. Notes of buttery corn and hints of vanilla pod are presented on the nose, while the flavour profile consists of hints of honey, mocha and maple syrup. The Bourbon is crafted using sour mash and is charcoal filtered, retailing for RRP £29 (US$38.96).

Mefford added: “UK consumers are becoming more and more discerning with their purchases, spending a little more on products they can savour. Both Yellowstone Select and Ezra Brooks are fantastic examples of genuine Kentucky straight Bourbons, with unique flavour profiles that will suit experienced American whiskey drinkers or those looking to try something new.

“We’re delighted to be working with the team at Ocado as we approach the festive season, and we look forward to building on our partnership with the addition of more products in the future to further support our European growth.”

Luxco recently rebranded its 174-year-old production facility to Ross & Squibb Distillery, and also debuted a Port-finished Bourbon.
