The collaboration is part of the rum brand’s latest campaign – Bacardí Spiced x Defected Presents: D-Rum Sessions – designed to elevate the spiced expression.

Bacardí Spiced x Defected Presents: D-Rum Sessions will host a series of online music events on live-streaming service Twitch, featuring Defected’s Monki, Afro-house ‘trailblazer’ Kitty Amor, Glitterbox’s Melvo Baptiste, Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton, and Club Bad founder Melé.

Bacardí has enlisted the help of Jama to introduce each session and artist with an informal chat.

Meanwhile, bartender La’Mel Clarke, of London bar Lyaness, will be on hand to show Jama and the rest of the team how to create Bacardí Spiced cocktails inspired by the artists’ sets.

Federica Laconetti, senior brand manager for Bacardí Rum UK, said: “We’re so excited to continue to bring music and dance into the living rooms of rum fans through the Bacardí Spiced x Defected Presents: D-Rum Sessions and we couldn’t think of a better partner to collaborate on this project with than Defected Records.

“Most exciting of all, through partnering with both Defected and Twitch, we’ll be able to reach music lovers all over the UK and beyond.

“Working with DJ and long-time friend of Bacardí, Maya Jama, to be the face of and host of this jam-packed series completes the line-up.

“We can’t wait to see how Maya, La’Mel and all these incredible Defected artists spice up the party each Friday.”
