Jigger Beaker Glass returns to UK with new theme

Bacardi-Martini has launched the fourth instalment of its UK-based Jigger Beaker Glass on-trade programme, which will explore the theme of ‘tastemakers’.

The fourth Jigger Beaker Glass event will take place in three UK cities

Returning for its fourth year, Jigger Breaker Glass will provide seminars and live workshops across the on-trade in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

The tour was founded by Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB) in 2017, with the aim of ‘educating and inspiring the on-trade’.

Davide Zanardo, head of brand advocacy for Bacardi-Martini UK, said: “Now, more than ever, is the time to evolve and continue to support our community and the rebirth of hospitality. By taking Jigger Beaker Glass on tour to three key cities across the UK and providing resources via our newly relaunched website, we will bridge the gap between digital and physical learning to provide unparalleled accessibility to the educational content that matters most to bartenders.”

Jigger Beaker Glass will head to London in October, during London Cocktail Month, Manchester in January 2022 and Edinburgh in February 2022.

The Bacardi-Martini advocacy team will examine industry trends with events led by Bacardi-Martini trade ambassadors, covering a range of topics from ‘Nolo without Fomo’ to ‘Molecular Matchmaking’.

The latter will be the first event, and will feature guest speakers and tutorials touching on the science behind flavour pairing in drinks.

“We look forward to exploring the importance of food and drink pairings within our new Tastemakers series, with the support of some of the most inspiring names in the industry who have used their creativity to adapt to the ever-changing hospitality landscape over the past year,”added Zanardo.

In London, cocktails inspired by the topics featured in the tour will be available to buy for RRP £7 (US$9.68) at the bar, and bottled iterations will be sold through cocktail delivery service The Drinks Drop.

To register, visit jiggerbeakerglass.org, where online content will also be available for all in light of Bacardi-Martini’s commitment to accessible training resources.

Bacardi and Brown-Forman ended their UK distribution alliance after 17 years in 2019, with the former avoiding a £51.5 million (US$73 million) lawsuit raised by its former distribution partner earlier this year.
