Finlandia vodka launches lower-ABV line
Brown-Forman’s Finlandia vodka has debuted a 30% ABV range infused with botanicals and fruit.
The new Finlandia Botanical line comprises two flavours: Cucumber & Mint and Wildberry & Rose.
The 30% ABV bottlings are made with ‘real’ botanicals and infused with ‘natural fruit’ flavours, resulting in a ‘light, refreshing’ taste, according to the brand.
“Boasting the best ‘Finnish’ nature has to offer, Finlandia Botanical combines the versatility and mixability of vodka with the craftsmanship of botanical infusions in a way previously only associated with gin,” said Pekka Pellinen, Finlandia’s global master mixologist.
“Sipped in a Spritz, on the rocks, or with tonic, the new expression will invoke the dreamy night-less nights of the Finnish summer.”
In anticipation of National Oyster Day this Thursday (5 August), Pellinen recommends pairing the Finlandia Botanical-based cocktails with oysters – namely a Mint Spritz or Rose Spritz, which combines either expression with sparkling water and lime juice.
Pellinen added: “The light, crisp and dry flavour of Finlandia Botanical Cucumber & Mint lends itself perfectly to pairing with the delicate flavours and salinity of oysters.
“Wildberry and rose might not immediately come to mind when you think of oysters, but not only does this cocktail match a super plump sweeter oyster, it also lends itself to the flavours of both caviar and high-grade tuna.
“The Wildberry & Rose spritz is refreshing but not too sweet and is also delicate enough to not overpower the creamy sweetness of these jewels of the sea.”
The Finlandia Botanical range is available in Colorado, Connecticut, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, ahead of a larger rollout, for an RRP of US$15.99 each.
