Rum and bitters producer Angostura has unveiled a Spritz campaign in partnership with three UK-based bars this summer.

The Spritz serves will be available in three UK bars

The House of Angostura has teamed up with the independent bars to launch the Secret Sips Summer Spritz campaign.

Produced in Trinidad and Tobago, Angostura Bitters is a concentrated spirit drink made from herbs and spices with extracts of grasses, roots, leaves and fruits dissolved in alcohol.

Claire Arnott, Angostura Bitters’ head of UK marketing, said: “After more than a year of unprecedented times, it’s so encouraging to see the UK get back on its feet. While we celebrate with the nation, we also wanted to show our support to the bar industry as they open their doors once more.

“We’re so pleased to be partnering with some fantastic independent bars to welcome guests back with some amazing Angostura Bitters-inspired summer Spritz menus.”

The new bitters-based Spritz cocktails will feature on bar menus in London, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Tailor-made for each bar, the cocktails will be available throughout the remainder of August and during early September, with offerings including gin- and wine-based cocktails, as well as lower-ABV serves and alcohol-free drinks.

Arnott added: “We’re also sharing all of the recipes and many more of our own on our social media channels so people can  get involved and maybe experiment with their own combinations at home too.”

The participating bars include: Pineapple Club in Birmingham; Uno Mas in Edinburgh; and Bar Liber in London. The latter bar will offer a Pineapple, Lime & Bitters Spritz, comprising Angostura Bitters, pineapple syrup, fresh lime juice and ginger ale. It will also present the cocktail Strawberry Fields, which blends Angostura Bitters, strawberry syrup, vermouth and lemon juice.

This week, Whitley Neill also unveiled its new summer campaign, which targets al fresco dining alongside its bottles of gin.
