Cider and spirits producer Kopparberg has expanded its hard seltzer range with a new strawberry-flavoured iteration.

At 5% ABV, Kopparberg Strawberry Hard Seltzer is gluten-free, low-sugar, vegan-friendly and contains 93 calories per 330ml can.

The new flavour is available to buy from Morrisons and Asda supermarkets in the UK, priced at RRP £2 (US$3) per can.

The strawberry offering joins the brand’s mixed berries and passionfruit flavours.

Kopparberg hard seltzers are flavoured alcoholic sparkling waters, made with Kopparberg spirit.

Rob Salveson, head of marketing at Kopparberg, said: “The subtle flavours that dominate the hard seltzer category can disappoint. We believe Kopparberg has managed to find the perfect balance of subtle and refreshing, with a punchier flavour than other brands on the market.

“For those looking for a light, lower-calorie alternative, this is the drink of the summer.”

Swedish cider producer Kopparberg first moved into spirits in May 2019 with the launch of a strawberry-and-lime-flavoured gin. The release was soon followed by a mixed-fruit-flavoured expression.

The following month, the brand tapped into the burgeoning ready-to-drink (RTD) sector with the launch of a canned strawberry-and-lime-flavoured gin and lemonade.

Last year, Kopparberg extended its range of spirits further when it brought out a cherry-flavoured spiced rum, soon accompanied by the Kopparberg Dark Fruit Spiced Rum.

In April this year, the brand added a trio of flavoured vodkas to its portfolio.

Hard seltzer sales in the US soared by 130% in 2020, according to IWSR Drinks Market Analysis.

According to bar inventory management platform Backbar, these are the most popular hard seltzer flavours.
