Kopparberg releases strawberry and lime gin
Swedish cider producer Kopparberg has made its first foray into spirits with the launch of a strawberry and lime-flavoured gin.
Kopparberg Premium Gin has been flavoured with strawberries and lime
Bottled at 37.5% abv, Kopparberg Premium Gin is a London Dry style gin that has been double distilled over a two-week period.
The new gin, which has been infused with the same strawberry and lime flavour as its popular cider flavour, also features juniper, lemon zest and coriander botanicals.
It is recommended served over ice, mixed with lemonade and garnished with slices of fresh strawberry and lime. The new expression can also be served with tonic and garnished with cucumber and basil.
Kopparberg Premium Gin will be supported by the brand’s £6 million (US$7.8m) Outside is Ours marketing campaign across TV, digital and out of home media.
“We’ve made it our mission to use our drinks knowledge and flavour expertise to bring the spirit of Kopparberg to life,” said Rob Salvesen, head of marketing.
“Not many know that we brew and distil many other drinks in our brewery in Sweden and with over 10 years’ experience in distilling gin, as well as our success as flavour leaders here in the UK and around the world, it was an obvious decision for us to introduce Kopparberg Premium Gin in one of our most iconic flavours.
“This focus on flavour, combined with our premium fruit refreshment positioning is what we feel will set us apart from other pink gins on the market.”
Priced at £22 (US$28.67) per 700ml, Kopparberg Premium Gin will launch exclusively in more than 700 Greene King pubs across the UK from 6 May.
It will be available to purchase in select UK retailers including Morrisons from 22 May and Asda on 10 June.
