Vacay RTDs to be sold in Sainsbury’s

Canned cocktail brand Vacay has secured a listing with UK retailer Sainsbury’s.

Three cans from the Vacay range will be sold in Sainsbury’s stores

The supermarket chain will stock three of Vacay’s RTDs across 70 of its stores.

The brand’s Moscow Mule, a mix of vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and bitters, comes in at 6.5% ABV; its Tom Collins cocktail brings together London gin, Sicilian lemon juice and soda water, with an ABV of 6.1%; and its Blood Orange & Hibiscus Vodka Soda marries vodka, blood orange juice, hibiscus syrup and soda water, sitting at 5.2% ABV.

Each 330ml can has an RRP of £3 (US$4.16).

Vacay launched last year with the aim of ‘elevating’ the RTD category.

Chris Caruso, founder of Vacay, said: “Sainsbury’s is one of the UK’s biggest supermarket retailers and launching three of our best-selling SKUs with them gives us an amazing opportunity to reach even more consumers around the country.

“The RTD category continues to show impressive growth and our bright aesthetic and branding is designed to stand out on the shelf. We’re excited to be able to offer Sainsbury’s shoppers our premium canned cocktails, made with high quality, natural ingredients, to enjoy at home or on summer picnics.”

Indeed, RTDs have experienced a massive boom over the past year, and are now set to become the second-biggest alcohol category in the US, according to IWSR Drinks Market Analysis.

Last month, Vacay made our pick of the best canned cocktails.
