Heaven’s Door and Redbreast collaborate on whiskey
American whiskey brand Heaven’s Door, co-founded by singer Bob Dylan, has teamed up with Redbreast Irish whiskey to create The Master Blenders’ Edition.
To make The Master Blenders’ Edition, Heaven’s Door 10-year-old Bourbon was finished for 15 months in Redbreast’s 12-year-old Irish whiskey casks.
Tasting notes include aromas of leather, nut and spice, leading to flavours of marzipan, walnut, nut sweetness, raisin and nougat on the palate. The finish is said to be ‘delicate’ with some honey and coconut.
Bottled at 50% ABV, The Master Blenders’ Edition has been packaged in Heaven’s Door’s signature bottle, with a new gate design created and chosen by singer-songwriter Dylan himself. The label also features a robin redbreast bird.
The whiskey will be available to purchase online via reservebar.com and from select retailers globally at the end of May, priced at US$99.99 per 700ml bottle.
Heaven’s Door launched in the UK and Ireland in February last year though a distribution deal with When We Are Giants.
Redbreast revealed the fourth release in its Dream Cask series earlier this month: a 29-year-old single pot still whiskey. The brand is also offering fans the chance to win a bottle of the rare release.
