Conncullin Irish Gin eyes global expansion

Irish spirits producer The Connacht Whiskey Company is planning to grow the international footprint of its award-winning gin across Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia next year.

Connacht Whiskey Company plans to increase availability of Conncullin Irish Gin in 2021

The Connacht Distillery is based in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland, and produces Conncullin Irish Gin, Brothership Blended Irish American Whiskey, Straw Boys Irish Vodka, Straw Boys Irish Poitín and Spade & Bushel Irish Whiskey.

With its ‘berry-forward notes’, Conncullin Irish Gin recently won a Gold medal in The Gin Masters 2020.

Killian O’Sullivan, commercial director of The Connacht Whiskey Company, said: “We haven’t entered many competitions with this gin, so to win a Gold at our first time of entry in a competition as prestigious as the Gin Masters really is tremendous.

“Our distilling team have put a lot of effort into creating something ‘standout’ in the crowded gin market and this award is great recognition of their efforts.

“We are expanding our availability in 2021 to markets in Eastern Europe and SE Asia so having this award will help as it gives a relatively unknown gin an endorsement, which is valued by consumers.

“In just the last 24 hours, we have seen new enquiries come in from potential customers in the UK and elsewhere, so we look forward to introducing many more gin lovers to Conncullin during 2021.”
