Lyaness reopens

Ryan Chetiyawardana has reopened the doors to his London bar Lyaness this week.

Serving up its signature cocktails made with innovative ingredients such as Vegan Honey and Lyaness Tea-mooth, the London bar will welcome drinkers from 5pm BST on Thursday through to Saturday.

The bar on London’s South Bank has implemented stringent cleaning practices and will operate in line with distancing guidelines. Bookings can be made through the Lyaness website.

Over Under cocktail giveaway

London coffee house Over Under will serve up free Espresso Martinis at its Ladbroke Grove site today (4 September).

Drinkers at the west London venue can claim a free Espresso Martini cocktail with their first round of drinks.

Open from 6pm BST, the Over Under Ladbroke Grove site will serve up creative cocktails and a menu of snacks to drinkers in west London.

Kara-soaky

London’s Bunga Bunga will kick off its socially-distanced shower-themed karaoke series this weekend.

Starting tomorrow, Kara-soaky will take place every Friday and Saturday at Bunga Bunga and sees singers take to an on-stage shower cubicle, which were designed to recreate a “sensational singing in the shower experience”.

Each cubicle will have a spotlight and shower head fitted with a microphone. The shower head comes with fresh disposable covers, and the cubicle will be thoroughly sanitised after each performance.

Brasserie of Light cocktails

London’s Brasserie of Light has launched a menu of CBD-based cocktails.

Available throughout September, the menu of serves are made using Meda cannabidiol (CBD). The cocktail menu features the Glow, a refreshing blend of Gin Mare, elderflower, lime, biotin and olive leaf CBD, and the Recovery, which is made with Havana Club seven-year-old rum, orange, pineapple, turmeric and ginger CBD. Drinkers can also sample a CBD-infused twist on the Espresso Martini, called Espresso Medatini.

Spirited Speaker Series

The latest episode in Beam Suntory’s Spirited Speakers Series is now available to watch online, and features a chat with Putri Realita, global diversity and inclusion lead at food company Danone.

The Spirited Speaker Series is a video series hosted by Ed Stening, global head of marketing, travel retail, at Beam Suntory. In the latest episode, Stening discusses the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace with Realita.

Coupette’s new menu

On Thursday (10 September), London bar Coupette will launch its latest drinks list, which is inspired by “the darker side” of its Bethnal Green home.

The bar’s Urban Legends and their Uprising Tales menu tells the story of how a fictitious east London gang was born, through illicit rum deals, spirit smuggling and ingredient hustling.

Drinks on the new menu include the Chocolate & Red Wine, which is made with Flor de Caña 18-year-old rum, chocolate wine and Winder Chocolate Cacao, and the Code Rouge, which combines Macallan Sherry Oak Scotch whisky, ale vermouth and whisky barrel bitters.

Alcohol Free Co’s cocktail kits

Online drinks retailer The Alcohol Free Co has created a range of non-alcoholic cocktail kits for drinkers to create a host of serves while entertaining at home.

Created in partnership with alcohol-free brand Nine Elms, the kits contain the ingredients required to create a variety of alcohol-free twists on classic cocktails, including the Sorry Lilly, a new take on the Kir Royale, and the Fennel Punch, a “semi-sweet Punch”.

The kits start at £18.95 (US$25) and are available to order through The Alcohol Free Co website.

Grow your own garnish

For drinkers looking to get creative this weekend, Bacardi has partnered with florist Floom to create three grow-your-own garnish kits.

Designed to garnish drinks made with Bacardi rum, Bombay Sapphire gin and Grey Goose vodka, the kits are designed to help at-home bartenders create garden-to-glass garnishes.

Available from the Floom website, the kits are priced at £45 (US$60) and feature two fully grown seasonal plants paired with a 350ml bottle of spirit.
