By Nicola CarruthersAmerican spirits company Milestone Brands has appointed former William Grant & Sons executive Marc Carson to the role of vice president, marketing.
Marc Carson has joined Milestone Brands
Carson has worked at Scottish spirits firm William Grant & Sons for more than 11 years in a number of commercial marketing and brand management roles. Most recently, he was in charge of overseeing regional marketing for the company’s US business.
With more than 20 years of experience in the spirits sector, Carson started in the industry as a field marketing manager for French firm Rémy Cointreau, based in Dallas, US. He then moved to Los Angeles to lead commercial marketing for the west until 2009 for Rémy Cointreau.
Carson also holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from the University of Florida.
“We are excited to build on our success and talent by adding Marc to our team,” said Eric Dopkins, CEO and founder of Milestone Brands. “He is a true brand builder and understands the heartbeat of taking small brands and building them into tomorrow’s category leader.”
Milestone Brands said the appointment of Carson is aligned with the firm’s aim to accelerate the growth of its spirits portfolio, with a focus on Dulce Vida Tequila.
By the end of 2020, Dulce is expected to surpass 75,000 nine-litre cases and 100,000 cases within five years of Milestone’s acquisition of the brand in 2016.
Earlier this year, Milestone Brands entered into a joint venture with Mexico’s Grupo PSA to bring Campo Bravo Tequila to the US.
