Campari brings US distribution in-house

Italian drinks firm Campari Group has taken over the distribution and marketing of its brands in the US after ending its deal with Palm Bay International.

Cinzano’s vermouth range is now being distributed in the US by Campari America

Effective immediately, Cinzano vermouth and Mondoro sparkling wine brands will be imported and marketed by the group’s US arm, Campari America.

Cinzano’s full vermouth range and Mondoro sparkling wines have now joined Campari America’s portfolio of 50 brands. The Cinzano collection includes Bianco, Rosso and Extra Dry, as well as 1757 Vermouth di Torino, the latter of which was already imported and marketed through Campari’s US unit.

“The strategic move to bring these Campari Group brands sold in the US in-house to Campari America allows us to build synergies across the portfolio,” said Ugo Fiorenzo, Campari Group managing director – America.

“We thank Palm Bay for their past support helping to nurture and grow these brands in Campari’s biggest global sales market.”

Campari Group’s sales in the Americas grew organically by 5.8% in 2019, with the US growing by 5.3%.

In March last year, Campari Group opened a new headquarters for its North American and US business units in New York City.
