Slingsby recruits Nick Dunning to aid global expansion

North Yorkshire-based Spirit of Harrogate has appointed Nick Dunning to the role of export manager as it eyes global expansion for its Slingsby Gin brand.

Nick Dunning joins Slingsby Gin as export manager

Dunning joins Spirit of Harrogate with more than 15 years’ experience working in export, covering countries including Australia, Russia, Holland and Hungary. He previously worked with wine producer Boutinot Wines for seven years before joining Spirit of Harrogate.

Director of sales at Spirit of Harrogate, Tony Ince, said: “We’re delighted to have Nick on board, with his extensive export knowledge and experience, he’s a truly great addition to the sales team.

“This is a completely new position at Spirit of Harrogate which showcases how far the brand has come in only four years. There are no limits to the role so we’re very excited to see how far and wide Nick can get the Slingsby brand. Watch this space.”

Slingsby Gin is currently available in the UK, New Zealand, Germany, Malta, Finland, Denmark and Croatia. The brand hopes Dunning will help build Slingsby’s availability in the Far East and Middle Eastern markets.

Dunning said: “I believe the Slingsby brand has everything required to succeed in international markets. It has a focus on heritage, provenance and quality with the essential ‘Britishness’ that many importers are looking for.

“I have had a particular focus on new business within previous positions and I’m looking forward to bringing this area of expertise to my new role at Spirit of Harrogate. My goal is to build on the spectacular success of the brand here in the UK and turn Slingsby into a recognised global brand.”

Earlier this year, Yorkshire-based Slingsby Gin announced it had reached the £10 million (US$12.2m) sales mark, boosted by its flavoured variants.
