Slingsby Gin hits £10 million sales mark

Yorkshire-based Slingsby Gin has reached the £10 million (US$12.2m) sales mark, boosted by the brand’s flavoured variants.

Slingsby Gin is produced by Spirit of Harrogate

The Harrogate-based brand also witnessed an “impressive” year-on-year sales growth of retail sales by value in grocery, up 147%.

Slingsby Gin producer Spirit of Harrogate said its flavoured expressions – Yorkshire Rhubarb Gin and Gooseberry Gin – have “significantly contributed to the brand’s growth over the last 12 months”.

“This year is going to be big for us; Slingsby has just turned four years old and we have now hit the £10 million sales milestone, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Spirit of Harrogate co-founder Marcus Black.

“We have gone bigger than ever this year, from the launch of our Summer Series campaign, which has seen us partnering with some of the biggest sporting events of the year including the BMW PGA Championship, Chestertons Polo in the Park and Cowes Week, to making big plans for our next flavoured gin to thank our local customers who have supported us from the very beginning.”

Mike Carthy, co-founder of Spirit of Harrogate, said:We’re looking forward to the rest of 2019 and to see how far and wide we can take the Slingsby brand over the next few years.

“We will continue to experiment with new flavours and carry on innovating within the drinks market, while expanding our exporting abilities.”

Earlier this year, Slingsby Gin partnered with Michelin-starred restaurant The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds to launch a caviar-infused gin.
