Angostura brings ‘massive party’ to Edinburgh Fringe

Rum and bitters producer Angostura is set to throw a “massive party” during the Edinburgh Fringe arts festival next weekend.

Angostura is sponsoring a two-day party at the Edinburgh Fringe

The two-day party will take place on 24-25 August from 3pm-11pm at the Biscuit Factory in Edinburgh’s Leith district.

Guests will go on a “journey through cocktail culture” and will be able to “experience the tastes, sounds, senses and history” of the House of Angostura, based in Trinidad and Tobago.

The party will feature a Pink Gin Bar, stocking some of Scotland’s best-known gins and showcasing Angostura Aromatic Bitters. The brand’s rums will take the spotlight at the Rum Bar, where its signature Queens Park Swizzle will be served.

For caffeine fans there will be an Amaro de Angostura Liqueur Coffee Bar, while those who are abstaining from alcohol can enjoy the Lo/No Lemonade Bar, serving the Lemon Lime and Bitters alcohol-free cocktail.

In addition, the party will feature improvised theatre, live music and DJs, as well as a two-hour live comedy slot hosted by BBC presenter Julia Sutherland on each day.

Tickets cost £15 (US$18) and include two cocktails plus one low- no-alcohol serve.

Earlier this year, Angostura opened entries for its 2019 Global Cocktail Challenge, offering a US$10,000 cash prize and a two-year contract as its global brand ambassador to the winner.
