Lost Loch Distillery opens Spirit School
Scotland’s Lost Loch Distillery has launched its Spirit School programme, which will teach participants how to produce their own botanical spirit.

Taking place every other Saturday at the distillery in the Deeside Activity Park near Cairngorm National Park, the Spirit School will teach participants about the history of distillation.
During the six-hour experience, guests will have a tour of the Scottish distillery, visit the site’s botanical library and will use Lost Loch’s five-litre alembic still to create their own botanical spirit.
Participants will “immerse themselves in the taste and smell of the botanicals” as they learn which compliment one another and how to use different ingredients to flavour their spirit.
After distilling their spirit, participants will be able to label and take home a 500ml bottle of their bespoke expression.
The experience costs £100 (US$120) per person and includes a locally sourced lunch, Lost Loch goodie bag and a £5 (US$6) voucher to spend on the distillery’s products.
The Lost Loch Distillery currently produces three spirits, Haroosh botanical spirit, Eenoo Scottish gin and what is thought to be the first absinthe produced in Scotland, Murmichan.
