Taste award-winning spirits at The Wine & Spirits Show

Spanning Scotch, gin, vodka and Bourbon, some of the industry’s most awarded spirits will be available to taste at The Wine & Spirits Show next week.

Here are a few of the award-winning spirits on offer at the Wine & Spirits Show

The Wine & Spirits Show will take place on 12 and 13 October at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.

The event is a collaboration between The Spirits Business and the drinks business teams.

Over the course of the two days, the event will bring leading wine and spirits brands together for an exciting programme of discussions, tastings and learning.

The Wine & Spirits Show will encompass two halls – one dedicated to wine and one to spirits – and will feature a number of masterclasses for the trade and consumers.

In the spirits hall, there will be a Global Masters Spirits Zone, where visitors can taste award-winning expressions from the Global Spirits Masters – a series of blind-tasting competitions assessed by completely independent and expert judges.

The area will be manned by some of the judges behind the competition, who can take visitors through the various expressions and tasting processes.

As well as Slane Irish Whiskey and Herbie Gin, a number of whiskies from Welsh distillery Penderyn will be on offer. Penderyn Madeira and Sherrywood were both awarded Gold medals, while a Silver was given to Penderyn Portwood.

The Global Masters Spirits Zone will also see a number of Scotch whisky brands available to taste, including Master winners Ballantine’s Hard Fired and The Glenlivet 12 Year Old, as well as Gold medallist Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength.

Gin will also be well represented with an array of award-winning expressions, including Listoke 1777 Irish Gin, Brighton Gin and Finnish gin Kalevala.

Full details on the masterclasses will be revealed in due course.

Trade professionals will be welcome from 1-5pm on the Friday. The event will open to consumers from 1-9pm on the Friday and 12-8pm on the Saturday.
