Pure Wild Spirits seeks £750,000 investment

Freya Birch Sprit owner Pure Wild Spirits is looking to raise £750,000 (US$1.04 million) worth of investment to “accelerate” its expansion and enter the US market.

Freya Woodsmoke launched in November 2017

Pure Wild Spirits – creator of the ‘world’s first’ birch-sap distilled spirit, called Freya – is working to raise the funds through private investor network Growthdeck and 24 Haymarket.

The group is looking to grow its presence in retailers, bars and restaurants, and plans to enter the US market, starting in New York.

It follows the launch of a second flavour variant of Freya in November last year, called Freya Woodsmoke Birch Spirit.

David Wallwork, founder of Pure Wild Spirits, said: “This is a very exciting time for Pure Wild Spirits as we go into a major growth phase of our business.

“Targeting independent premium bars and building relationships with the most creative mixologists, working with the best bar groups and trialling premium retail distribution are all key elements of our strategy to manage and promote our brand in the UK and internationally.”
