Conor McGregor to launch Irish whiskey
Professional fighter Conor McGregor is set to “take over” the Irish whiskey category with the launch of a brand called Notorious.
McGregor announced his new Irish whiskey brand Notorious at a press conference last Sunday
Following his boxing debut on Saturday evening (26 August), the Irish mixed martial artist announced the new venture at a press conference, with a glass of whiskey in one hand and a bottle of Notorious in the other.
The current UFC Lightweight Champion faced defeat after losing a match to American boxer Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Taking to the podium, McGregor said: “Notorious Irish whiskey, coming soon.
“I’m going to take over the Irish whiskey market – and this is delicious! Boy that whiskey tastes so good. Keep an eye out for it.”
The Irish boxer made sure to keep the bottle either in hand or on display and took sips from the glass as he fielded questions about the fight and his future prospects.
McGregor isn’t the only famous face to enter the spirits category; Channing Tatum also unveiled a potato-based vodka last year, while Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has a mezcal and Tequila blend.
