Stoli Group names Pietrini new CEO

SPI Group has appointed Hugues Pietrini as the new CEO of its Stoli Group subsidiary, replacing Rob Cullins who departed in October 2016.

Hugues Pietrini is the new Stoli Group CEO

Pietrini, who takes up the Luxembourg-based role with immediate effect, has 20 years of experience in the food and beverage and spirits industries, most recently serving as vice president of distribution at Moët Hennessy.

He previously spent almost eight years at Orangina Schweppes where he served as France and Belgium president and CEO after being promoted from his marketing and R&D director post.

In the acquisition of Allied Domecq by Pernod Ricard, he was named vice president of the Stolichnaya Brand Organisation, a role he held from 2005-6.

“Over the last two years the iconic Stoli brand has been in the midst of a rejuvenation among consumers and the trade,” said Pietrini. “When I looked at the position of our vodkas and the opportunity for growth with all of the premium and super-premium categories that the Group has recently entered, my decision was made without hesitation.

“I’m looking forward to building on the team’s recent successes in developing the Stoli and elit brands across the world, and to launching Bayou Rum and KAH Tequila next in key global markets.”

Pietrini fills the role left vacant in the departure of Rob Cullins, who left Stoli Group in 2016 and is now an advisor to Perfect Brands Capital Partners.

Stoli Group has seen its portfolio expand dramatically in the past 18 months after signing an exclusive distribution deal with Bayou Rum in 2015, and with parent SPI Group acquiring Kentucky Owl Bourbon and Fabrica de Tequilas Finos in 2016.
