WSET welcomes Berry Bros as newest patron

Berry Bros & Rudd has signed up to support the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) as a Silver Corporate Patron.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is the 13th Silver Corporate Patron to join WSET

The wine and spirits merchant was founded in London in 1698 and holds two Royal Warrants.

The business has worked with WSET as an Approved Programme Provider (APP) for a number of years, offering education to consumers and staff. It becomes the 13th Silver Corporate Patron, alongside companies including Brown-Forman and trade show organiser ProWein.

Patrons help to ensure that WSET gets the funding it needs to continue developing its courses and qualifications, as well as maintain its online campus and professional membership body for graduates.

Ian Harris, WSET chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Berry Bros. & Rudd as a Silver level partner in our Corporate Patrons programme. They have provided great support offering our qualifications to aspiring professionals and enthusiasts over the years, and this new partnership will enable our businesses to unite in the mission to innovate and educate in the dynamic world of wine and spirits.”

Dan Jago, chief executive of Berry Bros & Rudd, added: “Education has always been at the heart of Berry Bros & Rudd and our Wine School gives hundreds of students the opportunity to study for the WSET exams each year. With this in mind, as well as the on-going education and development of Berry Bros. & Rudd colleagues, it is entirely natural that we are able to provide this level of support to WSET.”

Berry Bros & Rudd announced earlier this week the relaunch of their Glenrothes Vintage 1995.
