New gin made with collagen to launch

Another product that claims to merge the worlds of beauty and spirits is poised to launch in the UK – a gin distilled with pure collagen, called CollaGin.

CollaGin contains drinkable collagen and other “age-defying” botanicals

The product is the brainchild of Camilla Brown and Liz Beswick and will launch under their Young In Spirit company, which will see a range of distilled products containing collagen hit the market.

CollaGin also contains what are described as “anti-ageing” botanicals such as angelic root, pink grapefruit and star anise.

“Working at all hours is worth it when you truly believe you are working on something special,” said Brown.

“This belief is reinforced when social media goes crazy when we post images, when people invite us to speak at events on female independence and when you overhear strangers discussing your baby.

“Passion, motivation, ambition and being nice to people is key to making a business work, especially in an industry typically dominated by men with a different attitude to business.”

The product follows the launch of Anti-AGin in April last year – a brainchild of food and drink innovation company Bompas & Parr that contains “age-defying botanicals” and drinkable pure collagen. When it was released, the “first of its kind” gin was said to be “the alcoholic equivalent of a facial”.

CollaGin, bottled at 40% abv, is available to buy online at an RRP of £34.99 from late March.
