Ginposium moves to bigger venue for 2017

The Gin Guild’s fourth annual Ginposium will be held at the RSA House in London on 8 June, a larger venue selected to accommodate a bigger audience as demand grows.

Ginposium will move to a new venue in 2017

Eleven speakers have already confirmed attendance, including Martin Riley, The Gin Guild; Matthew Pauley, Heriot Watt University; Joanne Moore, G& J Distillers; Olivier Ward, Gin Foundry; Henric Molin, Spirit of Hven Backafallsbyn; and Sam Carter, Bombay Sapphire.

In addition to the speaker slots, the programme includes a panel session which will see participants explore topics including visitor friendly distilleries, the importance of aroma for gin, the rise of the category in Spain, and effective branding and marketing.

Participants will also be able to join a tutored tasting led by David T Smith from Summer Fruit Cup, and a panel discussion with author Ian Buxton looking at whether the gin category needs tighter definitions.

“Our previous Ginposium events have sold out, so for 2017 we are holding the event at a much larger venue, RSA House in London,” said Nicholas Cook, director general of industry body The Gin Guild.

“The excitement and interest in gin continues to grip and enthuse. Last year in the UK alone over £1 billion of gin was sold, and we hope to better that this year.

“New brands continue to arrive on the scene almost weekly to stake their claim, while established brands and the early entrants to the current renaissance continue to innovate and develop.”

Ginposium 2017 tickets are priced at £120 plus VAT for Gin Guild members and £180 VAT for non-members.
