Foxhole releases second grape-based gin

Following the release of its introductory English gin in 2016, Foxhole Spirits is releasing a second grape-based batch.

Foxhole Gin ensures nothing is wasted at the Bolney Wine Estate.

Foxhole Gin was created to provide a sustainable answer to the by-products of the winemaking industry, using unused juice from grapes grown for wine in the Bolney Wine Estate, Sussex.

Since there is a difference in each vintage of grape, no two batches of Foxhole Gin will be the same.

Co-founders Sam Linter and James Oag-Cooper will produce 1,920 bottles in the second run having made and sold all 960 bottles of the first batch.

Oag-Cooper said: “We launched Foxhole Spirits with passion and determination to not only produce spirits which taste great but to promote sustainability across the drinks industry and reduce industry waste.

“Batch One was a success – both in terms of production and how the gin has been received – and it’s that success which propels us to continue on our journey.”

The fruit character from the grape spirit is said to be slightly more pronounced due to the quality of the 2015 grape harvest.

Foxhole Gin is available online directly from the producer and a selection of independent bars and retailers from £40.00.
