Diageo Korea adds calories to Windsor label
Global drinks giant Diageo has added nutritional information and alcohol content to the packaging of its new Scotch whisky-based spirit drink, W Signature by Windsor.
The on-pack information will include alcohol, calorie, carbohydrate, protein and fat per standard serve
The on-pack information will include alcohol, calorie, carbohydrate, protein and fat per standard serve in accordance with Diageo Consumer Information Standard (DCIS) – a concept Diageo introduced to “standardise” labels on its products.
Diageo said adding the data will give consumers “accurate, easily available information to help them make responsible decisions”.
The alcohol, calorie and nutritional information will also be provided on the Diageo Korea homepage as well as Diageo’s responsible drinking website drinkiq.com.
Kilsoo Cho, CEO of Diageo Korea, said: “I hope it will serve as a great opportunity to help to shape and reinforce a culture of responsible drinking. Diageo Korea will also spare no effort to help consumer understanding of beverage alcohol.”
Launched in November 2016, W Signature by Windsor is the “first” spirit drink from the Windsor brand. Bottled at 35% abv, and contains 17-year-old Scotch whisky.
In June 2016, Diageo announced plans to add on-pack alcohol content and nutritional information to bottles of Johnnie Walker Red Label – the world’s best-selling Scotch whisky.
