Rob Swartz departs Southern Glazer’s

Leading US drinks distribution company Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has announced the planned departure of Rob Swartz, executive vice president, integration.

Executive VP, integration, Rob Swartz leaves the company effective 31 December 2016

Swartz led the team responsible for the successful integration of Southern Wine & Spirits of America and Glazer’s Inc at the end of the second quarter of 2016. Following the integration, Swartz transitioned out of Southern Glazer’s effective 31 December 2016.

“Rob’s leadership throughout the integration of Southern and Glazer’s was exemplary and enabled us to close the transaction on time, on budget, and with no disruption to the business,” said Southern Glazer’s CEO, Wayne Chaplin.

“On behalf of the entire leadership team, we are grateful for his dedication to this critical process, which has set the foundation for future success of our combined organisation.”

Following his departure, Swartz will focus on his multiple board of director positions including his role as lead independent director for Capital Southwest Industrials and executive chair of the Environmental Pest Services Board. Additionally, Swartz is a member of the board of managers for Glazer’s Beer & Beverage.

“Rob has been an outstanding leader and contributor during his tenure at Glazer’s Inc and throughout the integration of our two companies,” added Shelly Stein, president of Southern Glazer’s. “We wish him the best of luck in this new chapter and know he will continue to be a tremendous asset to the boards of the companies he serves.”

In November last year, Southern Glazer’s slammed what it called “inaccurate accusations” of a lawsuit that claims the firm defrauded four New York bars over several years.
