Blue Label unveils Year of the Rooster bottle

Johnnie Walker is marking Chinese New Year with the launch of a new limited edition Year of the Rooster bottle design for its Blue Label variant.

When placed side-by-side, the four sketches resemble a Chinese scroll painting

The new design is now available across the US, targeting the gifting market. Diageo-owned blended Scotch brand Johnnie Walker describes the bottle as a “true collector’s item”.

It is the fourth instalment in Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s range of limited edition bottle designs celebrating the Chinese Zodiac.

“Blue Label is the pinnacle of blending excellence in our portfolio, and we are thrilled to celebrate the Lunar New Year in such a remarkable way with our annual special edition offering,” said Stephanie Jacoby, vice president of Johnnie Walker North American.

“The Lunar New Year is such a significant cultural holiday and we couldn’t be more honoured to mark the occasion with our rarest blend.”

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Year of the Rooster is packaged in a premium gift box featuring luxurious gold sketches, which are said to “showcase four aspects of the rooster: the ‘Herald’, the ‘Prospector’, the ‘Pioneer’, and the ‘Adventurer’.

When the four designs are placed side-by-side, they are said to resemble a Chinese scroll painting.

Bottled at 43% abv, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Year of the Rooster carries an RRP of US$258.00.

Earlier this month, Johnnie Walker teamed up with soul band Chicano Batman to re-release Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land Is Your Land’ folk song as part of its Keep Walking America campaign.
