Ex-Diageo director leads Sazerac DC office

Buffalo Trace Bourbon owner Sazerac has appointed a former Diageo director as its new vice president, government relations.

Elizabeth Wise will head up Sazerac’s first office in Washington DC

Elizabeth Wise, who has spent the past eight years working as Diageo’s director of government relations, will now lead Sazerac’s first office in Washington DC.

While at Diageo, Wise was responsible for the company’s tax portfolio in the US and also advocated the company’s social responsibility agenda, as well as launching the Diageo House and managing the group’s political action committee.

Previously, Wise was director of government relations for the Food Marketing Institute.

“We are thrilled to bring Elizabeth to the team,” said Mark Brown, CEO of Sazerac. “She brings valuable expertise in the food and beverage industry, as well as public policy advocacy to Sazerac.

“She is well suited to represent our team with both lawmakers and regulators in demonstrating the challenges faced by our uniquely taxed and highly regulated industry.”

Louisiana-based Sazerac recently confirmed its acquisition of UK distributor Hi-Spirits.
