Woodford Reserve releases Brandy Cask Finish

Kentucky-based distiller Woodford Reserve has extended its Master’s Collection range with the launch of Brandy Cask Finish whiskey.

Marking the 11th release in the Master’s Collection, the new expression is set to hit shelves in November.

To create Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Brandy Finish, the distillery finishes its core Bourbon expression for two years in former brandy barrels to impart notes of “crisp caramel and dried fruit”.

Master distiller Chris Morris said: “As with every Master’s Collection release, this expression highlights Woodford Reserve’s creativity and dedication to innovation. I’m extremely proud to say we’ve yet again done something very special.

“Among Woodford Reserve’s many flavours include fruit and spice notes which the brandy casks emphasise. Both products showcase rich, intense vanilla notes from their barrel maturation making the combination of the two a true success.”

Originally introduced in 2006, each of the Master’s Collection bottlings focuses on one of the five sources of flavour that create Woodford Reserve’s taste profile.

Brandy Cask Finish is available in select markets within the US and in limited international markets from November at an RRP of US$99.99 for a 750ml bottle.

In June this year, Woodford Reserve added a new whiskey to its Distillery Series with the launch of Five Malt.
