The Spirit Show reveals masterclass programme
By Kristiane SherryThe organisers behind London consumer drinks expo The Spirit Show have released details of the masterclasses set to run alongside the wider event.
The Spirit Show has announced its series of masterclasses
Taking place at London’s Business Design Centre, Islington, from 9-10 December, the event will give participants the opportunity to taste from a range of 200 spirits, enjoy a meal in the Street Food village, and take part in a number of educational masterclasses.
The educational programme spans gin, rum world whiskies, vodka and a number of lesser known spirits, and will be hosted by Caskstrength Creative’s Neil Ridley and Joel Harrison, and Peter Holland from The Floating Rum Shack.
Classes include Gin – A Botanical Bonanza + Blend Your Own Gin where delegates can learn about botanicals before blending their own expression; Five Spirits That You May Have Heard of…But Never Tried, which promises “a weird and wonderful odyssey” of spirits; a look back at rum’s past in The History of Rum in 4 Cocktails; A World Whiskies Masterclass featuring drams from the British Isles and beyond; and Vodka from Around The World, set to highlight the different styles and tastes produced globally.
Prices for the five sessions start from £7.50, with booking required for all masterclasses. A special offer is currently available where participants can buy two tickets to the same masterclass and get one half price.
In addition to the paid-for programme, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust will host a free introduction to spirits on the Saturday only.
“The Spirit Show is genuinely something new and something different,” said show director, Geraldine Reeve.
“We think is going to be one of the best days out in London, a great way to kick off the Christmas season, stock up your festive drinks cabinet and buy Christmas gifts for your loved ones.”
Tickets for The Spirit Show start from £70 for 2 as part of an early bird offer.
