‘Tablet’ hip flask project seeks Kickstarter funding

The creators of a new “hidden flask” device designed to look like a computer tablet are seeking US$10,000 funding through a Kickstarter campaign.

The team behind StashPad have raised more than half of their US$10,000 goal on the crowd-funding site so far, and describe the project as “the trailblazer of all flasks”.

The hip flask is designed to look like a tablet computer with the screen turned off, and is equipped with a switch on the top which opens and closes a secret filling port.

The device comes with three disposable funnels for decanting up to 355ml of liquid, and features a hidden compartment which will carry up to four cigarettes.

A statement on the Kickstarter page from creators Ethan Hou and Dan Novaes, reads: “Inventing something comes with a lot of teamwork and communication. Once we thought up the initial designs, we had to work side by side with a 3D engineer to create the files needed to 3D print our first prototype.

“Once that was done, we worked with Hatcher Associates, a 3D prototyping company based in Chicago, to get our design printed and painted. After several iterations of the prototype and going back and forth with our designer, we have today a product that we absolutely love.”

Early bird pledges are still available for US$15, and the standard RRP of the product will be US$25.
