Edinburgh Gin debuts new bottle design
By Annie HayesSpencerfield Spirit has revealed Edinburgh Gin’s new “slimline” glass bottle, designed to be “easier to handle” for bartenders.
The bottle now features a cork stopper, a branded lid overlay with art-deco icons and a new-look labelThe new custom-made Italian glass bottle also features a cork stopper, a branded lid overlay with art-deco icons, and a new-look label.
In addition, the bottle has “Edinburgh Gin” etched onto the glass, with rimmed lines at the bottom to increase grip.
The bottle, made from Bruni glass, was designed by London-based graphic design company Stranger and Stranger.
Alex Nicol, managing director for Edinburgh Gin, said: “In an increasingly crowded category we needed to stand out from the competitive set.
“We also discussed the practical issues of handling the bottle with bartenders, consumers and our designers Stranger and Stranger. I’m confident we have developed an elegant solution for the longer term that is attractive to both consumers and trade alike.”
Edinburgh Gin is handcrafted in small batches and bottled in Edinburgh at 43% ABV.
The range includes the original Edinburgh Gin, Cannonball Gin, a Raspberry Gin Liqueur, an Elderflower Gin Liqueur and a Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur.
The company launched Cannonball Navy Strength Gin, the first product to be released from its new Edinburgh Gin Distillery, in September last year.
