Barrel House unveils cask strength Bourbon

Barrel House Distilling Company has launched its latest Kentucky Straight whiskey, RockCastle Bourbon.

The Bourbon is named after RockCastle County in Kentucky, home to the spring water used in Barrel House’s spirits

The new variant is mashed 200 gallons at a time, using Kentucky-grown wheat and corn ground at the local Weisenburger Mills, a family owned and operated milling operation founded in 1865.

The whiskey’s name, RockCastle, is named after RockCastle County in Kentucky, home to the spring water used in all of Barrel House’s spirits.

Peter Wright, co-founder of Barrel House Distilling Company, said: “This is the fruition of a dream that started for us in 2006, and we are proud to bring back the pre-prohibition Bourbon history to Lexington and Kentucky”.

The Bourbon will be available in limited amounts in Kentucky, Atlanta and Chicago.

The company anticipates releasing an “experimental” 7 Year Old Rye Bourbon by the end of the year to follow up RockCastle’s release.

Last month, it was revealed that more than 5.6 million Bourbon barrels were aged in Kentucky warehouses last year, the highest number recorded in 40 years.
