Spiritual bar new ‘flagship’ of spirits experiences
By Amy HopkinsFollowing a successful inaugural year at Vinexpo Bordeaux, the Spiritual bar, hosted in partnership with The Spirits Business, has been hailed as the new “flagship” for cocktail and spirits experiences.
Concept bar Spiritual has been hailed a success in its inaugural year at Vinexpo BordeauxFirst launched at Vinexpo Asia Pacific last year, Spiritual is a concept bar designed to shine a light on the world of spirits and cocktails, featuring masterclasses, flair bartending demonstrations and product placement opportunities.
As well as once again partnering with the International Bartenders’ Association (IBA), Spiritual welcomed members of the United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) who expertly crafted a selection of bespoke cocktails throughout the show.
The new partnership was particularly fitting since Vinexpo revealed that it had named the US as its “guest country” for 2015.
Furthermore, the Distilled Spirits Council of the US (Discus) showcased a number of spirits brands from the US and hosted a range of insightful seminars and tastings.
“We expect Spiritual to become Vinexpo’s flagship for new cocktail experiences, product launches and global trends,” said Guillaume Deglise, CEO of Vinexpo. “It is a place where trends can be discovered and professionals can share their passion for spirits.”
The success of Vinexpo’s increased focus on spirits comes as the trade show reveals that the global spirits industry is forecast to hit 3.2bn cases by 2018.
