Spencerfield Spirit launches Seaside Gin

Spencerfield Spirit Company has launched an initial 1,000 bottles of a new Edinburgh Gin expression made with seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy – Seaside Gin.

Edinburgh Gin has brought out a new expression called Seaside Gin

A collaboration between Spencerfield Spirit Company and Heriot-Watt University, Seaside Gin was created between four postgraduate MSc students and head distiller David Wilkinson.

Designed to be enjoyed in a Gin and Tonic or mixed in classic gin cocktails such as Martinis, Seaside Gin is said to be slightly sweet with a mineral taste.

“Seaside Gin is a product we have been working on with Heriot-Watt distilling school for quite some time,” commented Alex Nicol, managing director of Spencerfield Spirit Company.

“We wanted to create a unique gin using botanicals from the fantastic shores of Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

“We experimented with a lot of different seaside botanicals and we’re really pleased with the result.”

Seaside Gin has an abv of 43% and is available exclusively from Edinburgh Gin Distillery and Heads & Tales bar at an RRP of £35 per 700ml bottle.
