Rare Glenglassaugh whisky worth £10k stolen

More than £10,000 worth of whisky has been stolen from the visitors’ centre at the Glenglassaugh Distillery in Aberdeenshire.

Among the stolen lots were rare bottles of 37-year-old and 40-year-old Glenglassaugh whiskies, worth £372 and £1,200 respectively.

Police are now appealing for information regarding the theft, which occurred between 4.30pm on Tuesday (10 June) and 9.30am on Wednesday (11 June).

A number of Lyle & Scott jumpers were also taken.

Constable Geraint Kalies said: “This is a very unusual theft and I am appealing for any witnesses who may have any information regarding the identity of the persons responsible.

“I would also ask that anyone who is offered whisky or clothing branded with Glenglassaugh distillery should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
