Danzka Vodka achieves USVI distribution through Glazer’s
By Becky PaskinDanish vodka brand Danzka has been launched in the US Virgin Islands for the first time through a distribution deal with Glazer’s Premier Distributors.
Danzka Vodka will be available in the US Virgin Islands from the beginning of JuneThe iconic aluminium-packaged vodka brand, owned by Waldemar Behn since April 2013, has shipped orders to the region, and will be on-shelf in both domestic and duty fre outlets in St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John by the beginning of June.
“Danzka is a perfect fit for the Virgin Islands, which for generations was part of Denmark as the Danish West Indies, until it was sold to the United States in 1917,” said Torben Vedel Andersen, global sales director of Waldemar Behn.
“You can see the Danish heritage throughout the islands, from the names of the streets to the design of the historic buildings, just like you can see the Danish heritage in Danzka Vodka.”
Glazer’s currently also represents Beam Suntory, Pernod Ricard and Patron Spirits Company in the region, among others.
Waldemar Behn bought the Danzka brand from French drinks group Belvedere for €19.4m in April last year.
