Berry Bros appoints new distributor in Russia
By Amy HopkinsBerry Bros. & Rudd has appointed Marussia Beverages RUS to replace Moscow Business Group as its spirits distributor in Russia.
Berry Bros. & Rudd has appointed Marussia Beverages RUS as its spirits distributor in RussiaMarussia Beverages RUS will handle the UK wine and spirits marchant’s The Glenrothes Scotch whisky, No. 3 London Dry Gin, The King’s Ginger Liqueur and Pink Pigeon Mauritian Rum from 1 June 2014.
“We would like to thank Moscow Business Group (MBG) for their hard work in building our brands in this increasingly important market but it now makes strategic sense for us to have all our brands in one place,” said Peter Davie, sales director for spirits at Berry Bros. & Rudd.
Davie added that sales of The Glenrothes had grown 140% in Russia over the last three years, while the country’s Scotch market is anticipated to double by 2019.
“While the market is less well developed for gin, the opportunities at the super premium level for No.3 are exciting,” he said.
Dutch-based international distribution company Marussia Beverages established Marussia Beverages RUS in 2008.
Etienne De Salins, CEO of Marussia Beverages, describes Berry Bros. & Rudd as an “important addition” to the company’s portfolio.
