The Balvenie launches Whisky Feed app
The Balvenie has launched a free whisky app to connect whisky enthusiasts and allow them to share their passion for the category.
The Balvenie Whisky Feed app is now available to download free from iTunes and Google Play Store
Embracing the digital era, The Balvenie Whisky Feed does not only focus on the single malt brand but allows users to explore other brands within the whisky category.
“The app provides new ways of continuing the conversation with our loyal fan base with the same level of authenticity that the brand owner is renowned for,” said Jonny Cornthwaite, brand manager.
“To do that, we felt it was important to present The Balvenie in the context of the wider category and not in an insular fashion.”
The app’s features include a news feed that will collect some of the industry’s top blogs and news sites and a whisky shelf, that will provide a list of whiskies for users to read about ranging from Bourbon to Islay Malts.
Users will also be able to rate any whisky they have tried, which will then be saved to a personal list that will allow them to revisit later after a second dram.
Similarly, a wish list will allow individuals to keep track of whiskies other users have enjoyed and save ones they may wish to try in future.
Options to search for whiskies via flavour profile, distillery and age will also be available.
For any whiskies that do not yet appear on the app, users can suggest a whisky to The Balvenie, who will then review the information and add it to the list for users to rate and review.
The Balvenie Whisky Feed app is free to download from either the iTunes store or from the Google Play store.
