William Grant creates rare whisky for WDFG

William Grant & Sons has partnered with World Duty Free Group (WDFG) to launch an exclusive blended Scotch featuring whisky from the Grant family’s private collection.

Strathspey Reserve 21 Year Old is now in WDFG stores across UK and Spain travel retail

The Strathspey Reserve 21 Year Old is a blend of “extremely rare” Grant’s whisky with other malt and grain whiskies from around Scotland.

William Grant master blender Brian Kinsman said: “With remarkable foresight, the William Grant family have built an unrivalled collection of Scotch whisky. Some of the single malt that we’ve used to create the Rare Cask Reserves is extremely rare; this is an incredibly exciting release from our archives. Our Rare Cask Reserves really are a taste of history.”

Its release is part of a series of 11 micro batches of rare and aged blends from William Grant’s Rare Cask Reserve, the smallest of which was 60 bottles for Aberdeen’s World of Whiskies store.

“In our constant search of exclusive, rare and vintage bottles from around the world, The Strathspey Reserve 21 YO, with its micro batches of blends is a testament of our ability to bring to our client the best of our expertise in the field of whiskies”, added David de Miguel, global head of liquor & tobacco at WDFG.

The edition will retail at WDFG stores at London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Madrid, Barcelona and Cancun airports at £99 for 700ml.
