Ballantine’s launches Paris bar design comp
By Amy HopkinsBallantine’s Scotch whisky has launched a competition which will allow budding French entrepreneurs to design a bar in Paris.
Simon Baldeyrou, Mathieu Deslandes, Hirmane Abdoulhakime, Laura Leonard will judge Ballantine’s The Bar ProjectThe Bar Project competition, launched by brand-owners Pernod Ricard, asks consumers to submit bar designs which “reflect their personalities”.
These designs will then be judged by a panel of French business, design and bar experts, including interior designer Laura Leonard and Deezer CEO Simon Baldeyrou, Paris bar Le Chacha Club’s artistic director Hirmane Abdoulhakime, and Pernod Ricard’s marketing director Mathieu Deslandes.
Three final entries will then be put to a public vote in May, with the winning design featuring in Le Chacha Club.
A VIP launch will take place in September and the design will remain in the bar until mid-October 2014.
“With The Bar Project by Ballantine’s, we wanted to create something exciting and inspiring that truly captures the essence of our brand,” said Peter Moore, global brand director for Ballantine’s.
“Our founder, George Ballantine, was very much an entrepreneur of his time and as such, he always stayed true to his convictions. This ethos remains at the heart of Ballantine’s to this day, so we’re excited to be bringing it to life with The Bar Project.”
The project is part of Ballantine’s Stay True, Leave an Impression global marketing campaign.
“We’re hopeful that French consumers will relish this opportunity to unleash their creativity and their entrepreneurial spirit to leave an impression on the bar trade, just as George Ballantine did when he created our iconic blended whisky,” added Moore.
Entries into The Bar Project by Ballantine’s are open now open at www.ballantinesbarproject.fr and will remain open until midnight on 22nd March 2014.
