AD Rattray releases single malt Cask Islay
By Melita KielyAD Rattray has added a new small batch, single malt Scotch whisky to its portfolio called Cask Islay.
AD Ratrray has released a new small batch, single malt Scotch whisky, Cask IslayInspired by the growing demand for single malt whiskies, Cask Islay is the latest single malt to be released as part of AD Rattray’s Cask Collection.
The new release is aged for fewer than 10 years in a mix of bourbon barrels and sherry hogsheads sourced directly from small bodegas in Jerez.
Bottled at 46% abv, it is described as transitioning from dry to sweet upon tasting with flavours of toffee, juice barley and rich peat smoke.
“Cask Islay is for the dedicate Islay malt fan but also for those who want to expand their whisky region experience,” said Nick White, managing director of AD Rattray.
“It is a heavy weight Islay classic with instantly recognisable peat and smoke aromas. On the palate it is unusually sweet and complex with a rare, for Islay, mix of bourbon and sherry casks making up this small batch production.”
Cask Islay is available to purchase at the AD Rattray Whisky Shop in Kirkoswald as well as selected UK and International retailers for an RRP of £32 per 700ml bottle.
